TablePress

TablePress

One german guy called Tobias Bäthge has solved a huge problem with tables – now everyone can create tables without having to mess with HTML. Most of the editors don’t know HTML and therefore couldn’t create tables. So he has taken this to a whole new level. Now you can make your table in the administration area just as easily as you would be doing it on Microsoft Excel, Apples’s (iWork’s) Numbers or Google Spreadsheets to create your tables. After creating your table just copy a simple shortcode to make this table appear anywhere on your site. Shortcode works with posts, pages and widget areas. The more data you have, the more you come love this plugin.

Image Widget

Image Widget

We all know “Text Widget”, the one that is already built into WordPress core but if your are tired of struggling with HTML while trying to put an image on your widget area then the plugin called Image Widget is your new best friend. You can easily add images to widget areas and make them even link to your desired location.

Calendar and Scheduler plugin by Plugistan

Calendar plugin

The thing with calendars is that they are most likely made by developers who have never needed one themselves. So this one is different. This was built for several different companies who needed to sell tickets or book places for courses. For the Estonian Youth and Puppet Theatre it brought 5 times growth in ticketsales in 2011. So you could imagine the power it holds. It’s probably the best calendar plugin out there. It’s contsantly updated and upgraded with new features. So you know it will not get outdated any time soon and you are up to date all the way.

Contact Manager

Contact Manager

This is the simplest way to list out your staff on your contacts page (or wherever you wish to show it). Put a face to a name and get rid of those anonymous contact forms. Use this to list your employees with style. You can ones photo, name, job title, email and phone number. Even more stuff actually, if needed. It’s built by Plugistan, so you know you’ll have support when needed.

WPML

WPML

Yes, not everybody speaks english :-) – For those who have multilingual websites this is the best plugin out there. You can add as many languages as you want. Needs some configurating after installation but once you’ve set it up, it will do the work.

Gravity Forms

Gravity Forms

This is the easiest form builder in the world. It’s so simple and easy to create polls, questions, contact forms or whaterver you need. Gravity Forms has been around for quite a while and has sold over 700 000 copies which is insane for a premium plugin. But good product finds it’s way to customers.

Hope you will find these plugins useful and make your life easier with making the right choices for you and your clients.

WordPress 3.3 takes on Tumblr

I like Tumblr too but let’s face it, the world is a better place because of WordPress. Now WP 3.3 gives you back the content that you own. I am not sure how bad it will hurt Tumblr but I believe it’s pretty big blow for them. For us it was really important to get back our content to control it and reuse it if needed. I hope it works…

"Because Tumblr's servers are often overloaded...". I bet they are now while we run this importer :-)
